Jay is a current K-9 Handler and Instructor for a Sheriff's Office. He has 14 years of
K-9 experience and has handled dogs for over nine years, with 3 service dogs. He is
a Certified Patrol K-9 Instructor and Certified Detection K-9 Instructor. Jay has been
a Post Certified Instructor for 13 years and teaches in 8 different areas of law
enforcement. He is a student and teacher of dog psychology.
Rod is currently a K-9 handler and Instructor for a Police Department. He has 13
years of K-9 experience. He has trained with 3 of his own service dogs. He has
attended USPCA trials, as well as seminars regarding several training aspects and
has trained with numerous other agencies. Rod became a PSP Judge in Narcotic
Detection and a PSP Instructor in Explosive Detection in 1999. The course was
through Utah Post Academy, taught by Utah Post Academy Instructor Wendell Nope.
He was the first in the Academy's history to certify in both disciplines simultaneously.
In 2000, Rod was Certified as a Patrol K-9 Instructor by Instructor Ken Licklider, a
trainer for the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Academy, Kentucky Law
Enforcement Council as a training provider and a member of NAPWDA and NNDDA.
